Every item has a QR code and a short code (for example K7M2QX). A printed label carries both; scanning it with a phone opens the item, or its public page for people outside your account.
Before you start #
The item must exist (see Create an item). Open it: Private > the project > the item's tile. For several labels at once, open the project instead.
Print a label #
- On the item page press Print label. For several items, tick them in the project and press Print labels.
- Pick a template and the size, and check the preview.
- Choose the output: PNG, 203 dpi or PNG, 300 dpi (for label printers), PDF, one label per page or PDF, A4 sheet.
- Press Save label (or Save n labels) and open the file in your label printer's app, or print the PDF.
If the label would show private names, the app asks Print private names?. Anyone who sees the label can read them.
The item page also has a QR code button that shows the item's QR code on screen, without printing. It needs the item to be synced first.
Scan a label #
Scan a label is in Private on a phone (Android and iOS). It opens the camera scanner; point it at a label and the item opens. The scanner is not available in the browser.
A label without its QR code cannot be scanned, and a very small QR code may not scan.
Free and Premium #
- Free includes the ready-made labels, also for many items at once.
- Designing your own labels and saving or sharing label templates needs Premium.
Label designer (Premium) #
The designer adds Add line, Add box, Free text line, My logo (PNG or JPG up to 5 MB, printed in black and white), Import picture or SVG…, Custom size… (width and height in mm), Auto-arrange, Fit to label, and Undo / Redo. Tap a part to select it, drag to move it, and drag its corner to resize it.
Save as template… keeps your design. Share… shares it with a family or company workspace; every member there can use, edit and delete it.
