Sign up (create your login)

Create your BreedMap login with your email address, an emailed code, your name and your birth date.

A BreedMap login is your email address plus a way to prove it is you. There is no password to invent at sign-up: an emailed code creates the login.

Before you start #

  • An email address you can open now.
  • A connection.
  • You must be 15 or older. During the beta, access is by invitation only (see What BreedMap is).

Steps #

  1. Open the "User info" menu (your picture) and press "Sign in / Register". On the Private page, signed out, you can also press "Register".
  2. Type your email address and press "Email me a code". New here? An emailed code also creates your login. (The small "Create account" link opens the same registration steps.)
  3. Type the 6-digit code from the email. It works once, for 10 minutes. Check your spam or junk folder if it does not arrive within a minute; "Send a new code" sends another.
  4. Type your name. It is shown wherever you have no @handle, so use your real full name, for example "Alex Moreno".
  5. Type your full birth date.
  6. Tick "Accept the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy" (both open from the links) and press "Create my login".

You are now signed in, in your own Personal workspace, and can create a project.

Notes #

  • Your birth date is never shown to other users. It is used only to check the minimum age.
  • Under 15 you cannot create a login, and nothing you entered is stored. A kid account can only be made by a parent or guardian (18 or older) from inside a family account.
  • An email address that already has a login cannot be registered again: sign in with it instead (see Sign in).
  • "Keep me signed in" is on by default: this device stays signed in for 30 days, then you confirm it is you again. Off means you are signed out when the tab or the app is closed.
  • If the Terms of Service or the Privacy Policy change later, the sign-in asks you to read and accept them again.
  • Later, in "My account" > "Security", you can set a password, an authenticator app or a passkey. The emailed code always keeps working. See Security.
