The care log is a diary of what was done to an item: watering, feeding, pruning, repotting, treatment, or types you define yourself. It is different from care reminders, which are planned care for the future and are kept on the server.
Before you start #
- Open the item: Private > the project > the item's tile.
Add an entry #
- On the item page, in Care log, press Add entry.
- Pick the type: watering, feeding, pruning, repotting, treatment or one of your own types.
- Set when it happened.
- Fill in the type's detail fields, if it has any (for example an amount with a unit).
- Write a note in Notes. Every entry needs a note; the app reminds you with "Write a note: every entry needs one".
- Save the entry.
Entries are listed newest first with the type in bold, the time, and the details and notes below.
Correct a wrong entry #
Entries are not edited. If something was wrong, remove the entry with Remove entry and log it again. The app says so when you try: "Entries are not edited. Remove it and log it again if something was wrong."
Your own log types #
- In Care log, open Log types.
- Press New log type. Give it a name and, if you want, detail fields with units. Notes are always there, so a type without detail fields is "notes only".
- Save it. The type is now offered when you add an entry.
Removing a type stops offering it for new entries. Entries already logged keep the type.
Offline #
The care log works offline like the rest of the item. Entries are stored on the device at once and sent at the next sync.
What the care log is not #
- Care reminders (tasks, events and alerts for the future, and the Care agenda) are a separate feature under Care reminders on the item page. They need a connection.
- The care log is included in a full backup export; a CSV export does not include it. See Export your data.
