Terms of Service: plans, payments and messages

What the draft Terms (v2.7) say about plans and limits, payments and refunds, family and kid accounts, and messages.

The second part of the summary of the draft Terms of Service, version 2.7 (29 October 2026). A draft, not yet in force, and not legal advice; the document prevails. The first part is Terms of Service: summary.

Plans and limits #

Plans: Free, and the paid plans Premium, Premium Family and Professional (Single User, Multi User and Token pool licences). All plans have limits, shown in the service. As at the date of the draft, the Free plan is limited to 50 items linked in total and a torch view of at most 20 items that cannot be switched off, with no limit on generations or children per item. When a paid plan ends, items above the Free limits become read-only: visible, not deleted, and only the private / public switch still works. See Plans overview.

Payments and refunds #

Paid plans will be sold through a third-party reseller (a "Merchant of Record") once available, under its own buyer terms as well. A plan is activated when the payment is confirmed; a reversed payment cancels the plan or Tokens. During the beta no payment is taken.

Refunds: paid plans and Tokens are digital content supplied at once, so there is no right of withdrawal once supply has begun. Monthly licences renew until cancelled and are non-refundable. Fixed-term licences (one, three or five years) are non-refundable, but BreedMap may, as goodwill and case by case, refund unused whole months. Tokens are non-refundable and expire 365 days after purchase. Refund requests: [email protected].

Family and kid accounts #

A Family account is for non-commercial personal use only and has no organisational features, company invoicing, Professional licences or Token pools. Buying a Premium Family licence needs a declaration to that effect, which is recorded.

A kid account is for a person under 15, created by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over from the guardian's own account, with a guardian declaration that is kept for the life of the kid account and 12 months after. The guardian is responsible for the child's activity. A kid has up to two guardians, each able to act alone. A kid account cannot approve requests, send or receive messages, comment, hold a public profile, publish without a guardian's permission, or buy a plan or Tokens. A guardian may read the kid's content and approve publishing, but may not edit or delete it without the child's permission. At 15 the account converts to a standard account after 30 days' notice, unless the holder chooses to stay under the family licence. See Kid accounts and guardians.

Messages #

Only registered users can send and receive messages; kid accounts cannot, and a message to a kid goes to a guardian. Members of the same family or company are friends automatically. Messages are stored on BreedMap's server encrypted at rest, not end-to-end: BreedMap can technically read them but does not, except for a reported message and a few around it (by reporting you agree to that), where the law or an authority requires it, or to investigate a security incident. The daily limit for messages to people who are not your friends or contacts depends on the plan and is shown in the service.

A message is kept until a user deletes it; a message in the Other mailbox is deleted 12 months after it was received. When an account is deleted, its messages stay visible to their recipients with the sender shown as "Former member". When you ask a person for help in the help assistant, the request and the last assistant answers in that chat go to BreedMap's administrators, and the reply arrives as a message from "Breedmap support". See Messages.
