The demo project is a ready-made sample of about 500 linked items. It lets you try the item list, the family tree views and the search before you have data of your own.
Before you start #
- Be signed in and in your own Personal workspace (the header shows it).
- Be online: adding and removing the demo needs a connection.
Add the demo #
- Go to "Private".
- Press "Add demo project (500 stars)".
The project appears in your project list, marked "Read-only demo". Open it like any project and look at its items, their lineage and the family tree.
What you cannot do with it #
Nothing in the demo can be edited, linked, published or exported. Demo items cannot be published to Public, and demo projects are left out of exports.
Remove the demo #
- In "Private", press "Remove demo project".
- Confirm with "Remove" in "Remove demo project?".
The app says "Demo project removed". You can add it again later.

- Only the Tree layout of the family tree is free. The Flat and Constellation layouts need Premium; on Free they show a read-only sample tree of about 500 stars instead ("Demo of a Premium view"), with "Back to my tree" to return to your own.
- Your first real project: press the "New project" tile in "Private".
