Messaging in BreedMap knows three kinds of people: friends, contacts and everyone else. The kind decides where a message lands and how many you can send.
Before you start #
Be signed in on an adult account and open User info menu > Messages > People.
Friends #
- In People, use Find a person by name.
- Press Ask to be friends.
- The other person answers under Friend requests with Accept or Decline.
Members of the same family or company workspace are friends automatically. Friends write to each other's Inbox, with alerts and push.
Contacts #
Press Add contact on a person (in People, or in an open conversation). A contact you add can write to your Inbox without being your friend. Adding a contact needs no acceptance; it only opens your own Inbox to that person.
Everyone else #
Messages from people who are neither friends nor contacts land in the Other mailbox: no alerts, no push, and they are deleted after 12 months. With Who can write to my Inbox set to Anyone, every registered person reaches your Inbox instead.
Daily limit #
Messages to people who are not your friends or contacts are limited:
- 10 a day on Free.
- 50 a day on paid plans and on family or company seats.
Messages to friends and contacts have no limit. When you reach the limit, the app says so and tells you when you can send again.
Block #
Block is in the conversation. A blocked person cannot reach you at all and is not told. To undo it, open People > Blocked and press Unblock.
Report #
Report is in the conversation. The latest message and a few around it go to the BreedMap team, who read nothing else of the conversation.
Kid accounts #
Kid accounts have no messages. A message to a kid is delivered to all of the kid's guardians ("To the guardians of <name>").
