📜History | The Norfolk and Norwich Terriers take their names from the county and city. In the early to mid-1800s, there was no distinction between them, as they were general farm dogs. The breed originated from Glen of Imaal, red Cairn Terriers, and Dandie Dinmonts. The modern Norwich and Norfolk Terriers emerged from the red progeny of these breeds. They were recognized in the Kennel Club in 1932 and separated into distinct breeds in 1964. |
