📜History | The Lhasa Apso originates from Tibet, where it lives at high altitudes in severe climates. Its long, hard coat acts as insulation in winter, and the hair falling over its eyes protects them from wind, dust, and glare. The first Apsos arrived in Britain in the early 1920s and were shown in London soon after. Initially confused with other shaggy Oriental dogs, they were labeled ‘Lhasa Terriers’ until a distinction was made, particularly between the Apso and the Tibetan Terrier. |
